“Should we?” Anne murmured, squeezing her and Marcy’s fingers, her thrumming pulse a comforting reassurance she was still here, “Take this final step?” ...The Core is defeated. Amphibia is in ruins, but safe. Their unwilling adventure is finally at it's end.
With the portal glowing at their backs and tears shimmering on their cheeks, the girls prepare to step through to Earth and reunite with their families, hand in hand at long last.
But it'd take another decade before they could start their happily ever afters. -

Sorry I took so long Anne, there were just so many options, and I couldn’t find yours at first!” She yelled into the still house, finally dumping the wet material into a pile on the floor. She ignored how it landed against the leather of Sasha’s nicer work shoes, instead eagerly poking around in her bag for Anne’s ice-cream as she squelched down the hallway. “I had to ask the clerk if they had it in stock, and you’re a lucky son of a bitch cause they had one left! And there was this deal going that if you got two pints you got a thi-oh.”
Marcy stopped short at the entrance to the living room, finally catching on to why it had been so quiet. Slowly she leant against the doorframe, unable to bite back the fond smile taking over her face...

Summary
When a teen is found murdered at her high school, Detective Sasha Waybright is called in to investigate. There she stumbles upon a bigger problem; the Biology teacher is incredibly pretty. And also a major suspect.
If that's not enough to deal with, an old, equally pretty frenemy has wormed her way back into her life, and is now publishing details about the case in the town's newspaper, and everyone is blaming Sasha for the leak.
Will Sasha be able to solve this murder and bring the killer to justice, while also clearing her name?
Or will this devolve into her being hopelessly confused and frustrated, as the town calls for her resignation?

Unbiddenly, a thought pops up in her head. It's a stupid one, like most of the thoughts that Jinx has had across the span of her life, but she tilts her head, gazes at Ekko. Could it work? Ekko's already invited to the wedding, which would explain why she didn't invite her boyfriend already, he's practically family so Vi wouldn't disapprove of the relationship…
"...I know how you can help me," she says, a small smile forming on her face.
Ekko squints at her curiously, folding arms across his chest. "You have that look in your eyes," he observes. "It's your 'I have a dumb idea' look."
Jinx kicks him again.
"Hear me out," she says, even as Ekko stares at her with that flat look in his eyes. "You could be my boyfriend."
There's a long, long pause.

“They're heavy,” she said, “Chop it all off.”

Summary
Anne dropped to her knees, the power fading from her as quickly as it came. The world felt fuzzy, the sounds of people screaming her name and their footsteps rapidly approaching only background noise to the ringing in her ears. Her sword dropped to the floor before she even hit the ground, arms wrapping protectively over her middle, doing nothing to stop the flow of blood pouring from the horizontal cut. It drenched her hands and clothes, pooling around her knees on the castle's linoleum floors, staining her shoes a deep crimson. She expected it to hurt, but she felt nothing through the buzz of her body in shock.
Hands grasped at her shoulders and pulled at her arms, but she made no reaction as her gaze stayed entirely locked on the far too large and far too deep gash across her stomach.
