Pucci finds Dio staring into the well at the back of the garden. It's where he's often found these days, staring into its inky depths. Before Pucci announces his presence, Dio lifts his head. "You shouldn't be out so late. Don't you know how dangerous it can be?"
"I have nothing to fear. The Lord is my shepherd." No one else here would speak His name, but Pucci feels no fear. If he wasn't meant to be here, the Lord wouldn't have guided him here. His path would have led him to more conventional locations, to churches and monasteries full of the devoted, or to cities so busy that he would be nothing but another drop in a sea of humanity.
It guided him here to this place, the crumbling manor, the sprawling, misty moors. He was meant to be here, to bear witness to the creation of new life.

But. This victory, it feels empty, phyrric. It's unfair, really, that it was him and his grandfather who dragged all of the others around the world to help them with their problems, but in the end, they still stand alive against all odds while they rot away. Hell, all of what's left of Abdul are forearms. It's not fucking fair.

"I wonder if Avdol gets them. Or Polarnaff." Hierophant Green reaches to wrap itself around his wrist again and this time Kakyoin lets it. The touch is helping calm him down a little. "I wonder if your grandfather does."
Jotaro lets out another breath of smoke, hat shifting to reveal his eyes glinting in the moonlight. They look different. Less hard.
"No. He's done something like this before, I think. He's...seen people die."
