As far as Battat knows, there hasn't been a Lightner in any of the Dark Worlds since long before his own existence began. So he isn't sure if it's luck or the lack of it that brings one right to his proverbial doorstep. He doesn't know the first thing about watching over a child - but he can only imagine what The Lord of Screens would do to anyone that let something happen to Kris Dreemurr on their watch, so Battat supposes he'd better figure it out quick.

Originally written near the release of chapters three and four, canonical events will be largely compliant but may occasionally veer off as necessary to tell a complete story.
