When the Raven comes to Lenore with something to say, things take a turn for the worse when he possesses her body and forces her to attack her friends in his attempt to eat them and take a hit at the Deans.
Lenore is now forced to deal with the aftermath and grapple with strained relationships with her classmates, who no longer trust her after her outburst.
Or at least, everyone except for a certain Annabel Lee, who is determined to prove to Lenore that she believes in her innocence, while also not giving the game away and losing everything.

What a perfectly weird and roundabout way to describe the end of a romantic relationship, Kara thinks. “Oh?” she says, aptly demonstrating her own comparative lack of eloquence.
It earns her one of Lena’s crinkly smiles at least, affection clear on her best friend’s face. “Should I feel offended that you don’t seem all that surprised?” she flusters.
“No,” Kara says, “I am,” and she is, is the thing, she's actually stunned, but she’s something else, much more than that.
She’s elated.
“Bummer,” Kara says.

Summary
