Summary
Ferdinand von Aegir was born and raised to be a noble, the heir to his family, and a future leader of Adrestia, his entire life planned for him before he could even talk. “Wait,” Mel gasps, pushing at Viktor’s chest as a thought strikes her. “Wait. Are you even attracted to women?”
Viktor stiffens. He pulls back and gives Mel the flattest, most cutting look she’s ever received in her life.
Slowly, pointedly, still glaring, he curls the two fingers he has inside her and presses. Mel represses a shiver as sparks soar up her spine.
“I realize that you are not a scientist, Councilor,” he says, derision dripping from every syllable, “but surely even you can come up with a reasonable hypothesis to answer that question, given the data.”
During a hot summer day, Mel visits the lab to find Viktor alone, and things get...heated.

“I’m already on a medication to suppress estrus,” Viktor informs him dully. Jayce’s whole face burns at his flippant ribaldry. “I had to be, in order to have a residence here. What else do you want me to do, Jayce?” He sounds tired, and Jayce feels like even more like an asshole.
“It’s just the smell,” he whines. “I - I can’t help smelling it if you don’t, you know, block it.”
Now Viktor looks interested. His eyes are sharp, too knowing. “And what do I smell like?”
“That’s an intimate question,” Jayce coughs, because it is, but all Viktor does is bend one thick eyebrow upward. “Um.”
