The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
Memories have always been hard for Grian. He often does everything in his power to repress them and forget about his past. No matter how hard his friends and family push, he’d rather act like he can’t remember the past than remember the monster he became.
However, when the newest Life Series forces him to remember what his life was like before everything changed, Grian doesn’t know what to do. Grian has to deal with more than just managing the Watcher’s newest game. As the memories surface and the truth finally comes to light, Grian fears he will lose the only thing he cares about: his new family.
How will his friends react when they learn what really happened to Grian in the few weeks between his disappearance from Evo to his reappearance on Hermitcraft? And how will they react when they find out how much the Watcher’s influence has affected their friend?

"Uses the air currents like feelers, I think," Dream's breath was coming heavier as he carried on running. "Gets an idea of where things are in relation to him. He doesn't always get it right, sometimes there are cracks in things big enough to feel like an escape route and he slams into a wall. Or he doesn't angle close enough to the ground and trips on things. He's uh-" Dream flipped the communicator around, and Techno blinked as Bad flew through the air, screeching the whole way. "He's slippery."
