Summary

The pressure rises for Rey to find an end to this war, as the resistance once again falls into dangerous territory. This time, Luke Skywalker will not be there to guide her to safety, and so she must learn the balance of the force by herself.
It has been months since they last saw each other, with Rey and Kylo both believing that the bond between them had disappeared after Snoke's death. When their connection reappears, this time more insistent and constant than before, they are forced to find new means to put an end to their bond.

Kylo’s accusation hung heavy in the air for a moment.
“I was never interested in the galaxy,” Rey shouted at him.
“Well, maybe I’m not either!”

Rey turns around again, starting to descend the steps, leaving him alone in the temple. ‘You can’t be here. Go back to your sycophants.’
He stands up abruptly and she flinches, shying away. ‘Have we really regressed back to being enemies now? After all this time?’ He motions between them, to the ephemeral, unbreakable bond.
Rey faces him, her hazel eyes so full of sorrow; it pierces straight to the core of him, an arrow to the heart. ‘You made your choices. You chose the Dark, Ben. You chose to kill the rebels rather than help them. There’s nothing I can do to help you anymore. So yes, you’re my enemy. And you need to leave.’ She turns away again, starting down the flight of steps that lead away from the cliff. The water in the pool undulates as her footsteps peter out, and Kylo stares into the pool, at his reflection, the scarred, damaged face that doesn’t even come close to portraying the conflict within. The face of the First Order. He hates it more than he ever has.

Summary
Six months after escaping Crait, the tiny Resistance force has been hiding on the Outer Rim planet of Arisaig, trying to regroup and plan their next move.
Rey and Ben have made no contact since the last moment on Crait. Rey is trying to continue her training, but is finding it more difficult to understand her place without a teacher. Her thoughts slip back to the throne room every so often and she wonders if she made the wrong decision for the right reason.
Knowing she is putting the rebuilding Resistance in danger, Rey decides to leave and find the closure and answers she has been searching for. Little did she know, or maybe she knew it all along, they would lead her right back to him.

He doesn't regret it as he shoves his elbow up in her delicate face.
He doesn't regret it as he hears the cartilage in her nose crunch on impact.
He doesn't regret it as she loses consciousness and he has to lower her down to the floor.
He kind of regrets it as he sees her coming to, face streaked with blood but otherwise looking unaffected by him besting her. And then, when she spits the blood out like it was nothing, he feels a stirring of emotion in him that has nothing to do with regret and everything to do with regard and admiration.
So noticing those feelings, that's when he regrets breaking her nose.Rey finds herself at the mercy of a merciless Supreme Leader. As a ward of sorts to ensure the Resistance behaves, Rey takes up residence at Kylo Ren's flagship. If the past is finally dead, then maybe it's time to look forward.

Three weeks after Crait, only a few are left aboard the Falcon. Supplies and fuel almost gone, the remaining Resistance must first bury their Princess and General before they can seek to destroy the First Order. Rey is burdened by what passed between her and Kylo Ren, and must find her way forward, the hopes for the future she saw in the vision gone. She and Finn, Rose, Poe, Chewbacca and the droids are all that is left, and they attempt to enlist the aid of former allies to put in motion a daring, tenuous plan that could either be the death of the Rebellion or the birth of a new, free Galaxy.
Meanwhile, Kylo Ren is the Supreme Leader of the First Order, but his inner turmoil has worsened since Rey's refusal and the death of Snoke, making him even more unstable. Hux believes him to be useless, and seeks to destroy him by any means within his grasp.
But, Ren's bond with Rey isn't gone. They both must use it to understand themselves, and each other. The Force will see to that.
