Quick to discern whether he could help or if he was too late, Shuichi rushed over to the figure on the ground. He heard a quiet splish! from under his shoe, and immediately lifted his foot with a gasp. He couldn't make out the color of the liquid in the dark, but the consistency and the way it puddled up around the victim's head told him more than enough. With a quiet noise of horror, he dropped to his knees beside the victim to see who it was.
Ouma-kun..?!
During the investigation for his third class trial, Saihara Shuichi stumbles upon an injured classmate and does all he can. And maybe a tad extra.

“What were you trying to check?” He hated him. He hated the sudden pique of curiosity, he hated how he only seemed interested in what he had to say if he thought he could get something out of him. He hated Saihara and the fact that he only came to speak to him if he thought he could get under his coat, under his skin and through to his nerves, cross them like wires and figure out what makes him tick. He hates that he can tell Saihara is just like the others, that he thinks he can figure out how his mind works, and thinks he can fix him if he just tries hard enough. He hates everything about him. He wants to rip his head off.

A vent fic, inspired by recent talk of how Kokichi exhibits all symptoms of borderline personality disorder. Written by someone who has BPD and has had to treat my own concussions despite being surrounded by multiple people every time, and as someone who also has been told I will always be alone. When Kokichi took one more step to the room, he felt his body lurch forward, and before he could even think to do anything, the floorboard on the opposite side flew upward at lightning speed, slamming against his head so quickly and so intensely that he ended up falling forward with the floorboard, the seance book slipping from his grip and onto the ground.
For a split minute, the world went dark. His head was throbbing, the area behind his eyes felt as though they were pushing against his eyeballs themselves, and his stomach churned, but he found himself unable to move. He…wanted to rest. He needed…rest.

It's been about a year since the thirteen of them woke from the living hell that was the Killing Game. Ever since, they've been living together in a strange new world where their old memories (regardless if they are real or fake) are next to meaningless.
Kokichi still feels the effects of the game a year later; although, that's likely only because of himself for not being able to get past his guilt. Still, he hopes to be able to, one day, feel like he has earned his place among the others and maybe even feel like he can belong.
