Summary
Tom Riddle gets the Defence Against the Dark Arts position while living a double life as Lord Voldemort. It is 1968, and Bellatrix Black, academically brilliant, but with a predilection for using the entrails-expelling curse, is in her final year of Hogwarts as his student. She is unhappily betrothed to Rodolphus, but has had a crush on Tom Riddle since meeting him at a family gathering.
Desperate for any kind of special recognition from Professor Riddle, she plots to target muggle-born students at the annual Halloween Ball. Borrowing books from his personal library soon turns into a special arrangement as his "research assistant," a role she fulfills in name only. Dumbledore, believing that Riddle has turned away from the Dark, hopes that it will keep Bellatrix out of trouble. As the Ball approaches, a suspicious Andromeda threatens to interfere with her plans.
Occasional tasteful smut interspersed with multiple POVs, mostly Bellatrix, Tom, Andromeda. COMPLETE. Originally posted on FF.
