Summary
A little snippet from my old canon divergence where a young Nie Mingjue comes to Meng Yao's aid after being kicked down the Koi Tower stairs, there will be a part 2 when I get around to uploading. But I'm really trying to showcase my younger A-yao so he can be better understood.

Summary
"Meng Yao!"
Nie Mingjue thundered out. The only response he received was the fading echo of his own voice. He knew he was about to act impulsively, but he hadn't been thinking clearly in weeks. What did it matter?
He couldn't let him leave just like that.He took swift steps towards the rain-dampened curtain Meng Yao had disappeared behind just moments before, his eyes grappling onto anything and everything before him-- he hardly noticed the rain itself. Nie Mingjue felt his head swim with an oh so familiar rage when he caught glimpse of a svelte figure standing directly beside the entryway from which he'd burst forth. Meng Yao hadn't gotten far at all.
Slowly, the shorter man lifted his head to look at his superior, his soaked locks clinging to his graceful features.
"You always go yelling and chasing after me, Da-ge…. You've become so predictable." -

They stay like that for some time: Meng Yao undoing the intricate work styled in his hair, Mingjue breathing deeply, his hands still on his hips, keeping him anchored. Occasionally, the grip on his hips tighten before they loosen once more. Outside, wind rustles the few trees around.

Summary
The whiskey burns his throat like gasoline, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. His eyes start to water as Lan Xichen gasps for breath, coughing desperately. Nie Mingjue squints through his pain as his boyfriend heaves as if one of his lungs has collapsed.
“Horrible,” Lan Xichen gasps like a personal affront. It shocks a laugh out of Nie Mingjue.
“It’s likely one of the whiskeys meant for sipping, not for chugging.”
“Awful,” Lan Xichen counters with disdain, already pouring another shot for each of them.
--------------
Or, the one where Lan Xichen gets incredibly drunk and tells Nie Mingjue all about his amazing boyfriend—who is, coincidentally, Nie Mingjue.
