Somehow, Buck has Eddie’s lip print on his cheek. Eddie has marked Buck as taken and his, and oh. This is what Buck wants. He can’t walk around with a hickey on his neck, no matter how much he wants to (and god does he want to). But this could scratch the itch, allow Buck to feel claimed, to feel like Eddie’s being a little possessive, while maintaining secrecy. He can wipe off the lip balm where Eddie’s lips branded him and pretend like they’re best friends and nothing more.

“You just love having your mouth filled up, don’t you?” Eddie coos, pulling out his thumb to replace with his index and middle finger and Buck whines plaintively. “Suck."
Buck does, letting saliva pool in his mouth and swirling his tongue around the two digits. He feels them go deeper into his mouth, and he gags as they hit the back of his throat, before remembering to relax.
“Good boy,” Eddie praises, and Buck opens his eyes to look back up at him. He doesn’t even remember closing them. “Who knew needy little sluts could have such good manners?”

Summary
For as long as Buck could remember, Christmas had been his favorite time of the year. The lights and the decorations and the snow always made the world seem a little brighter and a little quieter. They could celebrate it at the hospital (or so he was told way, way after the fact). It was the one day a year that his parents actually paid him any attention that wasn’t a result of him injuring himself or doing something stupid.
This year, the quiet that Christmas brought was painful. The lights made his stomach clench uncomfortably. The music playing softly through the speakers of every store made him flinch. The tree at the firehouse stood in the corner, undecorated because that had always been Bobby’s job, and Bobby wasn’t here. He’d never put the star on top of the tree again.
__________________Buck isn’t really in the Christmas Spirit this year. Eddie (but mostly Christopher) does whatever he can to change that. They might just fall in love along the way.

“Oh,” Eddie says, then forces out a laugh he hopes sounds casual. Buck’s eyes are wide, honest, like he’s desperate for Eddie to be reassured by this admission, to believe him. And how much clearer could he be? He’s not in love with Eddie. That’s fine. Eddie never expected him to be. His now empty beer bottle hits the counter too loudly, “No, of course not.”

As Eddie drives away to Texas to see his son, he realizes that half of his heart is in El Paso, but the other half is with Buck in LA, getting smaller in his rear-view mirror.
“Eddie?! Did you forget something?,” Buck asked, sitting up quickly and wiping the tears from his eyes onto the sleeve of Eddie’s hoodie.
“Yeah, I did.”
“Can I help you find it?”
“You’re right here,” Eddie said softly, blinking tears out of his own eyes.

Buck and Eddie never meant to have a child together. Really.
It wasn’t planned and it wasn’t even a choice, more an act of survival than desire. But after one heat and an emergency that left them with only one option, they’re now raising a little girl as best friends who never, ever talk about what happened.

But Buck can do nothing to stop the way his expression changes as he takes in the shirt that clearly belongs to Eddie, his hair that is so messy it can’t be chalked up to simple bed head, and the fact that Buck is here, in his house, in the morning after a late shift. Christopher’s expression shutters closed in a way that Buck has never been on the receiving end of, and he feels his stomach drop.

Buck’s insistence on making a perfect dessert didn’t stem from a need to impress or a desire for praise. It was a way to express his utter joy that his boys had come home and to show his gratitude for letting him be part of their little family for the past seven years.
Even through the phone, Buck could see Christopher and Eddie buckling under the weight of living in El Paso, could hear the weariness in their voices after another disagreement with Helena and Ramon.
For all they had been through, the Diazes deserved more than a random pick out of a list; they deserved something crafted with care, specifically chosen with them in mind, and Buck was determined to provide that for them.
