Tim winces, “Another critical fail. Jason, what does your human bard do?”
Jason plays a riff, then leans forward to mirror Timmy’s posture. “Active perception check.” He tosses his solid red D-20 out onto the table, not even looking at the result.
Finally catching onto Jason’s less than pure intentions, Tim’s smile tightens as he looks down at the die as it lands right in front of him. “That’s a natural 20.”
Jason grins, feral. “Let’s fucking go.”

Duke wants to spend more time bonding with his family. Somehow, this leads to him playing D&D with Steph, Jason, and Tim. The chaos is unstoppable, especially once Jason gets into his role as Tom, his human Bard. This upcoming forest confrontation won't know what hit it.

Looking down at his hands, Tim notices a set of fresh calluses that weren’t there the day before. Shooting a tentative glance over at the weirdly non-threatening crime lord, he asks hesitantly, “Did you… teach me something?”
The man nods. “Knife.”
Huh?
Reading Tim’s obvious confusion, the Red Hood clarifies, “I taught you knife.”
Tim scowls. “What does that even mean?”

Jason shows up to the Titans Tower, steeped in outrage, plan in place, ready to stalk his prey, but Robin isn’t playing along.
He didn’t think that the kid being in civvies would cause him to wig out this hard. Is… is he okay? Should Jason come back later, once he’s more coherent?

“How’d you cry so easily?” Duke asks, still entirely too awkward because no matter what Steph says, Duke still thinks Tim is kinda cool in a weird way. A really weird way.
“Oh, I classically conditioned myself over winter break when I was eleven. All I have to do to tear up is pinch a certain point on my arm. See?” Tim viciously pinches a spot on his inner forearm. Immediately tears start to well in his eyes.

Summary
“Good morning, Sleeping Beauty,” Dustin snarks. He rolls his eyes and heaves himself out of the passenger side of the bimmer, slamming the door behind him. He sticks his head through the passenger window, offering Steve a sarcastic sneer. “Have a good nap?”
Steve smacks his lips and swallows hard, but the odd metallic taste doesn’t leave his mouth. Dustin huffs at his lack of response and smacks the flat of his palm against the side of the car. Usually, Steve would reprimand him for that, tell the kid something about the paint job, or dents, but Dustin storms out of Steve’s sight before he can catch up to the situation. Steve’s slumped over the steering wheel, letting it press into the side of his face and his ribs, a radiating ache, but he knows the moment he moves, the pain will flare into something sharp and unbearable.
He has to bear it
