Shortly after season four came out, I decided I wanted to rewrite it with the premise that Steve and Eddie were already dating, but I also wanted to show how they ended up dating, and ... Two years later, the story is finally done at over 313,000 words. This is my magnum opus. I want to print this, bind it, and be buried with it. I hope others find as much joy reading it as I did writing it.

Summary
Eddie Munson hates top 40 music and the mindless conformity of house parties packed with preppy teens. But tonight, necessity wins out, he’s here to sell, and they’re willing to pay. Business is good until Steve Harrington, party host and birthday boy, sits down across from him looking anything but celebratory. Tired, hollow-eyed, and quietly bitter, Steve shares a joint with Eddie, their banter teetering between sardonic and unexpectedly intimate.
What begins as a transactional night quickly shifts into something softer. Tired of being the life of the party, Steve offers to buy out Eddie’s dwindling stash just for an excuse to leave with him. They spend the rest of the night trading barbed jokes and surprisingly personal confessions over milkshakes and burgers, well chicken in Steve’s case, the menace. The party fades in the rearview mirror as Steve slowly lets his mask drop, revealing a version of himself Eddie never expected to see—vulnerable, thoughtful, and dangerously charming.

It stops the playful atmosphere instantly.
Not everyone tells him when they have a Memento. Lucas had kept to himself, and Will had refused to tell Steve about his dream. Some of them just tell him, softly, I remembered number one-seventy-three, or I had a Memento, last night. Sometimes it’s easier to just mention that it happened, acknowledge it and move on.
And Robin, for the most part, had done this. She hadn’t mentioned the details, because she’s sure that Steve is tired of hearing them, doesn’t want to hear his death from another person’s eyes, another person who is left with his body for a day before the loop dissolves into nothingness.
AKA: In the aftermath of it all, when Steve is learning what happiness means for him, people start to remember his deaths.

Summary
Eddie loves Christmas, and Loch Nora has the best lights in the whole damn city.
His van is crunching lazily along the snow covered streets when it catches his eye, a clashing smudge of dissimilarity that sets his brain buzzing again.
The Harrington house is a blot of blackness on an otherwise merrily twinkling street. No lights on the rafters, no decorations in the yard, no wreaths on the door. All of the windows are dark except for one on the second story, a dull glow with a slash of violent yellow where the curtains aren’t quite pulled shut.

Or, Steve is alone for Christmas. Eddie decides to change that.
