"So, what can I get for you?" Her nerves were still palpable, but she was determined to hide them as best as possible. She offered a faint smile while she waited for the goddess who stood before her to make her choice.
The woman raised an eyebrow as she looked at the menu and then back up to Beatrice, causing the already flustered barista's heart to skip a beat. "Hmm, I'm not sure. What do you recommend?" she inquired, her eyes locked onto Beatrice's.
Beatrice felt her throat tighten, but she responded, "Well, I suggest a Latte, but it depends if you want a Vanilla Latte or a Caramel Latte." She hoped the other woman didn't notice the slight tremor in her voice.
A thoughtful expression crossed the customer's face, and she finally decided, "I'll go with a Caramel Latte, please."
Beatrice nodded, her heart racing with anticipation. "That would be 2 dollars, and may I get your name?" she asked, eager to know more about the captivating woman before her.
As the woman handed over the money, she flashed a warm smile with her glowing pulpy eyes that radiated peace and said, "Ava."

Summary
"Ughh, you're so annoying," I mutter, frustration boiling over inside me. My irritation gets the best of me, and I impulsively toss my plushie across the room, aiming it in Beatrice's direction while she's engrossed in making tea. To my surprise, my aim turns out to be uncannily accurate, and the plushie makes solid contact with her.
The impact sends shockwaves through the room, knocking the teacup right out of Beatrice's hand. It tumbles to the floor and shatters into a cascade of porcelain fragments, akin to stars abruptly plummeting from the sky. Beatrice's eyes widen in disbelief.
"What the fuck, Ava?" she erupts, her voice heavy with frustration and shock. My heart drops. Desperate to defuse the escalating tension, I sheepishly offer a smile and attempt to conceal myself behind the covers.
"Sorry?" I mumble, fully aware that I've dug myself into a deep, inescapable hole.
I'm fucked.

Summary
There are many things which unite Ava Silva and Beatrice Young, such as complicated relationships with their families, being two football legends in the making, or their shared past.
After Ava has spent six years playing for F.C. Barcelona, she gets drafted into Arsenal for a two seasons contract. The first person who she meets is the team's legendary captain, Beatrice Young.
The whole world believes this combination to be explosive, but Ava and Beatrice prove everyone wrong. Ava feels attracted to Beatrice, and vice-versa. It's really easy to understand, until it's not.
Ava is willing to break her own rules, but Beatrice is incapable to let go of her fears and past, which ends up with Ava ending her contract sooner than expected, going back to Barcelona, and trying to forget Beatrice.

Beatrice is a university student working part time as a food delivery rider to supplement her allowance. Ava is also a university student who hosts parties and ordering a lot of food on food delivery apps.
“So,” Beatrice handed over the bag of food to Ava, “it seems to me that the system is faulty. I keep getting assigned to this one customer again and again.”
Ava laughed, and Beatrice looked away to avoid getting caught staring. It was getting increasingly difficult not to get pulled into Ava’s orbit because she was magnetizing and very charming when she wanted to be.
“Maybe because I cancelled the orders that didn’t get assigned to my favourite rider.”
Beatrice rolled her eyes, “that’s not how it works, and I’m pretty sure you can’t do that.”
“It’s fate then,” said Ava. There was a playful glint in her eyes and Beatrice could’ve been mistaken but she swore she saw a brief quirk of Ava’s lips.

Summary
Ava rolls over, shutting her brain off, and very carefully presses the palm of her hand on Beatrice’s waist.
Beatrice tenses immediately, a sharp intake of breath filling the otherwise quiet bedroom.
A few seconds pass with nothing and Ava starts to pull away, an apology on her lips, when Beatrice grabs her wrist. It’s so fast that Ava hardly registers what happened, but suddenly, she’s being pulled to the other side of the bed.
Ava lets it happen, helps, and now she’s hovering over Beatrice. She’s so close she can see the shine in her eyes, how wide they are and she can see them flicker to her lips and back up.
Bea’s made this move, it’s her turn now. Ava leans forward, giving Beatrice a chance to turn her away.
When she doesn’t, it’s game over. Their lips meet and every functioning part of Ava’s brain that might tell her there will be consequences to this completely disappear.
The world could set fire tonight and Ava would keep kissing her as the apartment collapsed around them.
