Today is not one of those really good shifts. He gets a text before it's even started and it’s nice, it’s Dr. Abbot telling him "you’re such a sweetheart", and "we want you to come over, if you’re okay?" and what the hell is Dennis even supposed to say to that. No, sorry Man Who’s In Charge. I don’t want to get laid by my attendings because I’m a fucking loser who can’t make himself enjoy it. Fuck that. He sends back sure :) and sticks his phone in his locker because he really emotionally cannot handle anything else coming through and he already has to work with Dr. Robby all fucking day.

“How long have you known that it was me?” Her heart was thrumming in her chest like pixie wings.
His body tensed again. For a moment, Hermione thought that this would be it and he would turn around to run back to the castle to pretend that she didn’t exist, but then he opened his eyes and his gaze met hers.
“Third year.” The words were barely a whisper and Hermione inhaled sharply.
Third year?
As if sensing his disbelief, he quickly continued: “I didn’t know how serious it was until sixth, when Slughorn showed us the potion. I lingered after class, waited until everybody had left and smelled it.”
“Why?”
Malfoy shrugged softly.
“I wanted to find out if I was still capable of love.”
