Summary
After Penelope Garcia leaves the BAU for the Silicon Valley, the BAU hire Mattie Valentine to take her postion as their technical analyst. Most of the team warms up to her except for their resident genius; Doctor Spencer Reid. After a rocky start, the two bond over their reading habits and have a teasing sort of relationship that can be profiled as sexual tension. What happens when the two finally become friends and are forced to work a case in her hometown, only time will tell, especially when they have to share a room. And what comes after will be especially interesting.
(Title is a lyric from Don't Wanna Be Your Friend which didn't affect the story at all but I recommend listening to it generally because it's a good song)Bookmarked by Fleabag6252

Summary
Something about her unsettled him from the moment they met. Maybe it was his lingering sadness about Emily’s departure. Maybe it was his bias from having already met—and accepted—a new teammate in Blake. Maybe it was the smokescreen about her background, or her sharp, unwavering attention on anyone she spoke to, or how her lips were so perfectly symmetrical that Spencer thought they may have broken the laws of biology.
--
Dr. Spencer Reid isn’t good with change. Or new people. Or trusting others. And he doesn’t trust the BAU’s newest agent, even if she was recommended by Emily. For four years, they haunt the halls with tense glares and petty arguments.
Until Spencer goes to prison.
He doesn’t expect their bitter rivalry to thaw into a reluctant friendship. He doesn’t expect to be released to find her happily coupled up. But mostly, he doesn’t expect to fall in love with someone clever, cunning, and too ambitious for her own good.
Someone properly foxlike.
