Summary
Quỳnh cannot tell what Andromache wants, and this is worse than the unfamiliar sights and sounds and tastes and sensations. She is used to learning new languages and new peoples and new cities. She is not used to learning a new Andromache.
"Do you still?" she asks. It is the only thing she can think to say. It is too big of a concept to put into words.
Andromache freezes. She's still looking at Quỳnh in a way that tastes like the thousands of years they spent breathing the same air. Now Quỳnh has spent centuries breathing brine. It salts the next breath she takes, even now.
