He watches the smooth column of Aeron’s neck move as he turns to look at the other constellations around them — he gets the urge to sink his teeth into it, to know if it’s as soft as the white cake they served at his grandsire’s name day.

Summary
There’s something in Blackwood’s gaze beyond the smugness. To consider it teasing implies a camaraderie that doesn’t exist between them. Any fondness they’ve ever held for each other, any kind regard, was burnt out years ago. Davos made sure of that. Aeron searches his eyes, staring deeper than he’s ever had leave to.
“You jest,” he says, incredulous. “About this?”

It’s a marvel Aeron doesn’t reach across the table to strangle him. He ought to.
