Edalyn was standing at the table, a steaming mug in front of her and the small demon she called King held at her hip like a toddler. She was packing a lunchbox with her free hand. A cat shaped lunchbox. Lilith pinched herself, hard. Was this a fever delusion?The human girl was certainly the most obvious change in her sister's life. She’d never pegged Edalyn as the maternal type yet here she was, playing mother to that kid and the small demon. Lilith had heard Eda call herself “mama” on multiple occasions but she’d chalked it up to her sister’s eccentricities, not really thinking of the demon as more than a spoiled house pet. She hadn’t even known it could talk. Or him, she supposed. And now here was Eda, packing lunches and giving out cuddles. What had the world come to?

Well yeah, obviously, they had to have been made by someone in the first place. Someone had to have carved them, put all their work, life, and love into them.
Then there was the scar on their face, which could’ve come from anywhere. But it was a sign of the past, of whatever life they had lived before they met Hunter.
But another one of the more obvious details was the ribbon tied to their staff.

Hunter doesn't have any claim over the name Deamonne. It's not like he doesn't know that. If anything he would be a Wittebane, no matter how much the thought makes his skin crawl. More realistically, he's just Hunter, and no one in their right mind would claim him as one of their own, as family. Darius was kind to him, but the man had always been very particular about what was his; he wouldn't want a broken boy.
He knows all of this. And yet, 'Hunter Deamonne' is still what comes out of his mouth when asked about his name.
