Such a question shot out of the blue, made Hunter choke and turn so quickly on the flight chair that he almost fell to the floor. He managed to hold on to the chair long enough to steady himself and then glare towards Omega and Tech who had been tinkering with some tools and some new project.
--“I already told you, Omega. As I said…”
--“Tech!”—Hunter barked before the other clone could continue—“Come here!”
Tech adjusted his goggles and looked suspiciously at Hunter.
--“Why?”
--“Because…!”—Hunter stopped mid-sentence and looked around frantically. No switch light on or incoming transmission or anything. They were grounded on their hangar in Ord Mantell, bored out of their minds waiting for Cid to give them some mission. Hunter groaned more frustrated--“It is an order, that’s why!”—he ended up yelling again.Series

Summary
It was evident that Hunter was trying to soften somehow Echo’s resentment at having had his intuition and common sense downplayed. That didn’t work, either. Echo was too angry and aggravated to feel any sympathy for Hunter.
--“You need something for the pain”—he had wanted to phrase that as a question but it sounded, harsh, and even to his disgruntled ears it sounded more as the snarl that any instructor in Kamino would have used for some insurgent cadet that came back after running right into a durasteel wall. Well, Hunter looked the part too by trying to look more contrite and bashful.
--“No, it’s… it’s ok.”—Hunter whispered with a tight little smile.Series

The high-pitched falsetto made the kid look at the newcomer who came closer to her and the troopers. Omega blinked and gawked at the figure dressed with a long robe that covered her almost completely. She was ready to blurt a cheeky “who are you?” but refrained when the very pale woman winked an eye and then scowled at her when Omega’s lips started to form an “E” of “Echo” when she recognised the face without any other familiar context.
