Fifteen years ago, Rey and her friend Rose were travelling through Ireland when they took part in the Beltane fire ritual as a bit of a laugh. As travellers they just wanted to enjoy the local culture, make memories to talk about in years to come.
Pity then that the fire leap was Rose's last memory of Rey. She just disappeared into the inky black night. As did Ben Solo.
Rose searched for Rey but no one searched for Ben, for the villagers claimed that man didn't exist.
