Summary
Dropping his bag to the couch, Foggy turned toward the half closed bedroom door. To the left the bathroom light was still nonexistent, but there were to his eyes no dead vigilantes inside. His eyes flicked instead toward the bed, which was empty, naturally, the silk sheets twisted and draping off to the far side by the window. Light streamed, as it always did at all hours of the day and night, and Foggy noticed with a start five pale toes peeking out from under the cascade of sheets. In two quick strides he was at the far side of the bed, standing over a very tangled, very pathetic Matthew Murdock.
“What the actual fuck, Matt.”

Summary
Mabry makes the mistake of convincing Jack Wilder that his team died at his hands, and expects him not to do anything about it. He's the youngest, after all, the one they chose to kill off. He must be the weakest link. The least dangerous.
He quickly discovers that he's wrong.
...
Jack kills Mabry, finds out the Horsemen are actually alive, and proceeds to have a breakdown. Dylan reframes the picture--after all, when it comes to ensuring their team stays alive, ruthlessness is more of a gift than a curse.

Summary
Jack opened his eyes to sunlight streaming through the window, his head already pounding, and the brightness made it ten times worse. He flung the curtains across it, reaching for them blindly as his eyes watered and his chest tightened and his skin seemed to burn, but it only helped a little bit. If his skull felt like it had been crushed before, now it felt like shards of bone were digging into his brain, killing him little by little. He downed the glass of water set carefully on his nightstand, no doubt left by one of the others before they turned in. The thirst didn’t fade. The hunger only increased, and the pain—
The pain’s been growing worse this whole time.
...
Jack's been sick since he faked his death--sick, and hungry, and capable of hearing every single heartbeat in a mile radius. You know, normal migraine stuff, right? He's definitely not turning into a vampire.
(He's absolutely turning into a vampire.)

Summary
At seventeen, Jack figures out that a lot of family-owned restaurants will pay cash under the table for bussers and dishwashers on busy weekends. Plus, he usually leaves with leftover food at the end of the night, which is always a major relief.
At eighteen, Jack gets his first binder and figures out that it’s not that hard to get T once he knows the right people and gets over any reservations about the DIY stuff. He has a major growth spurt and loses a lot of the baby fat on his cheeks; he actually looks his age now.
At nineteen, Jack doesn’t notice Dylan bumping into him and slipping a tarot card into his pocket.Or, Jack is transgender. He successfully keeps that a secret until he binds for way longer than he's supposed to and winds up facing the consequences. That's what happens when you're put on a fifteen-hour flight to Macau without prior knowledge. It's a good thing Jack has good friends.
