“How many times do I have to tell you I don’t fuck humans?” Shane asked.
“Until I listen, probably,” Ilya answered.
“Is that going to be many more, or…?”
Shane trailed off and Ilya didn’t answer right away, just let his eyes slide slowly up the other man and enjoyed the view. When he was finished, Shane was watching, waiting, narrowed eyes black in the darkness.
“Is probably going to be a whole lot of times,” he finally said. “Do you want to start now, or are you going to come flirt with me again tomorrow?”

—Sí, capitán —dijo Ilya. Incluso con la poca luz, sus ojos brillaban con intensidad . Era injusto—. Estoy seguro de que no volverás mañana por la noche.
Shane no lo era. Shane aguantó tres noches enteras antes de encontrarse de nuevo en el bar, con la excusa de preguntarle a Ilya si había visto algo fuera de lo común. Luego la noche siguiente, luego dos noches. Se convirtió en una rutina. Se convirtió en un hábito. Se convirtió en lo que Shane más anhelaba: fingir que no disfrutaba del coqueteo incesante de Ilya mientras dejaba que el camarero dibujara círculos en la parte interior de su muñeca durante unos segundos de más, con la yema del dedo tan caliente que hacía palpitar la piel de Shane.
Luego se iría a casa y se acostaría con alguien que hubiera firmado un documento larguísimo y que no hablara mucho, ni se moviera mucho, ni hiciera ruido alguno, mientras Shane terminaba con eso. Shane se iría a la cama todavía sediento, el hombre se iría y todo seguiría su curso con normalidad, y si Shane empezaba a sentir ese cosquilleo que le decía que necesitaba algo más, bueno, era de esperar. Llevaba casi cien años en Nueva York. Probablemente era hora de seguir adelante, eso era todo.

Summary
Shane knew what people said about sharing true names: that it made sex better, like fucking bare except with all your witch senses involved, that even for people with no witch gift to speak of it was like your entire body was on fire. It probably wouldn’t be like that with Ilya, because sex with Ilya already felt like his entire body was on fire.
A universe in which the stakes for tuna meltdown are totally different and also kind of the same. Love, witchcraft, and true names.
Note: If you read this before 3/23, I recently realized that a key scene at the end of Chapter 7 didn’t make the leap from my google doc. Now fixed! Now with more feelings!

Rose Landry se echó a reír. “Miles. Miley. Mielifer. ¿Cómo iba a saber yo que Holly era una persona sexual o algo así?”
Miles parecía impasible. "Dioses arriba y abajo, Rose."
Shane sintió como si le hubieran golpeado en la cabeza. ¿Un qué? ¿Una bruja sexual? ¿Él? ¿Qué demonios estaba pasando?
A su lado, Ilya comenzó a reír suavemente y no paró.

“It won’t stop,” Shane said to the floor. His hands slid down and grabbed at his crotch, rubbing frantically over his boxers. “I can’t make it stop.”
They were still in the fucking hallway, and yes, it was six in the morning, but it was not private. Anyone could walk in, from their own apartments or the elevator. And Shane wasn’t exactly being quiet, gasping and groaning as he massaged himself. Viagra didn’t do this. It didn’t make you lose all sense of space, of boundaries, of… yourself.
This wasn’t normal. This wasn’t natural.

The morning after Ilya watches Shane and Rose together at the club, he gets a call from Shane. Something is wrong, and Shane says Ilya is the only one who can fix it. Ilya knows it's a bad idea, but that's never stopped him before.

Ilya apoyó su frente contra la de Shane, cerró los ojos y aspiró el aroma suave y limpio de Shane. «No es una molestia estar aquí. Nunca lo sería, pero menos ahora».
—¿Por qué? —preguntó Shane en un susurro.
Ilya rodeó con la mano la mandíbula de Shane. —Bueno, para empezar, eres muy guapo. Y me encanta follar contigo. Y estar aquí significaba que podíamos hablar de… —Ilya hizo una pausa. No había una forma que no resultara incómoda de decirlo, sobre todo en un idioma tan torpe como el inglés—. Podríamos hablar de llamarnos más —concluyó Ilya—. Solo eso ya justificaría todo esto.

The Raiders learn about Hollanov in a different way. Shane is very confused. Ilya loves his team. I regret nothing.
(This takes place a few months before the great tuna melt fiasco.)
Some sex talk but mostly a lot of swearing. Also not related to my other fics really but some of the character portrayals, especially the Boston Raiders being all good guys, is in my other work too.

“Mi Jane no se deja influenciar por una sola Copa Stanley”, dijo Rozanov sonriendo.
—¿En serio? —preguntó Cliff—. ¿No será tu esposa hasta que ganes más de una Copa Stanley? Eso es… —Cliff pensó en qué palabra podría decir sin que Rozanov le propinara un puñetazo en la cara—. Qué grosero.
Rozanov frunció el ceño. "¿Crees que le pido a Jane que sea mi esposa? No, no, yo sería su esposa . Me quedo en casa con los bebés y los perros y aprendo a beber vino blanco a las once de la mañana, mientras mi exitosa Jane es rica y famosa en la televisión por la noche". Suspiró. "Pero los tristes jugadores rusos de hockey no pueden darle a Jane nada que no tenga ya".
Aunque lo dijo en tono de broma, como una de las ingeniosas pullas de Rozanov a costa suya, Cliff pensó que Rozanov podría estar realmente triste por esto. Lo pensó por un segundo.
