Summary
Fearing upcoming referendums and elections, America invites himself to England's holiday in the Lake District. A relaxing break of swimming and hikes soon becomes impossible when old wounds split open, and potential paths to take are turned away from out of fear of the unknown. With Arthur forever focusing too much on the past, and Alfred too much on the future, neither side is particularly optimistic that their week will do anything except end in tears.
Somehow, they manage to surprise one another.

Summary
Arthur’s house is small. It is small, old, and smells of syrup and plums. When Alfred inquires as to why, England gives him a very funny look, as if the other man is as stupid as Arthur’s frequent insults suggest. He simply states that if Alfred cared to look in the kitchen, he would see the vat bubbling away on the hob.
America ponders how he is to do such a thing, considering he is still standing on England’s porch.
Alfred needs a break, and Arthur's door is always open.

Summary
In 1069, following a failed attempt by the Scottish King to restore the Anglo-Saxon royals to the throne of England, William the Conqueror pillaged the North as punishment for the uprising. With a third of England starving and the House of Wessex once again in exile, Scotland's King elects to marry the last English princess instead, ending any chance of a reprisal.
A young and still not quite united Scotland is tasked with handing over his little sister to this new Norman King. They talk on the route to York on what is to become of them now.

It's finally happened. After years of searching, a citizen has been found with the mark on their body that signifies they're the King of Spades.
Arthur is thrilled. It means he no longer has to shoulder the burdens of ruling the kingdom all by himself. The fact that King Alfred is easy on the eyes, bold and clever, doesn't hurt either. Arthur finds himself falling in love fast with the man destined to be his husband.
He just can't understand why Alfred won't love him back.

Summary
Alfred 'The Hero' Jones is a young American MMA fighter who has his sights set on the UFC championship. But when he challenges the current champion, Ivan Braginsky, a Russian fighter who goes by the title Ivan the Terrible, things don't go quite as planned, and he finds himself in the hospital. After a few weeks alone in his hospital room, another patient is brought in to Alfred's room: a British model named Arthur Kirkland, whose bad habits have caught up with him. In that room, broken together, they learn their little secrets, see their little beauties, and put each other back together again. Running from the past as it tries to catch up with them.
“You’re like a painting,” Alfred whispered against his lips. “You move like watercolor. You breathe out colors of the sunset, you blink in shades of grass and emerald green. You touch me the way an artist touches brush to canvas, you mark my skin and bleed your paint onto me. Sometimes you’re saturated and bright, sometimes you speak in gray and black hues. Everything about you is beautiful.”
