(SPOILERS IN DESCRIPTION AS WELL, AVOID THIS THING IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE)

They knew that saving the world was dangerous. All of them knew it, but the image of them losing somehow never properly considered...But here they were – staring at ashes of people they knew that covered their surroundings. Steve calls it the ashes even though no burning actually occurred and they don’t feel like ashes if you touch them, but that the only word he could think of when he said it.
"What can we do?" Natasha asked, looking around, her eyes the closest to defeated Steve ever seen. He wanted to give a speech – he was told he was good at them – but nothing really came to him. No motivation. No determination. No will to fight... Just emptiness that was probably reflected in his eyes. He put his finger through the ashes, the pieces of Bucky that were left and almost took a step back at how unknown the feeling was. So, he said it. The only thing he could think of.
"Collect their ashes?" He suggested, his voice weak.

Even Thor noticed before Tony did as Iron-Man may be a genius, but he is also as observant as a brick.

"How can you think you are so fucking smart, while being so oblivious" Bucky muttered with a little chuckled before a little smirk appeared on his mouth. "I mean, we fucked in every single room in this building. You literally walked in on us twice" he added and Steve became almost completely red, the blush covering his face.

I remember when-" Bucky suddenly stopped his train of thoughts and Tony was about to thank God for him finally shutting the hell up, when he heard the most shocking thing of the evening. "Stevie?" Barnes muttered and moved his shoulder a little bit to move the sleepy super-soldier.
"Hmm?" Steve mumbled sleepily, announcing that he was kind of awake. Tony rolled his eyes, expecting another trip on the memory line that both super-soldiers did from time to time while taking the sip of the beer when-

"Just for the record, Steve hated his soulmark.
He understood that every soulmark is unique and he could have something as generic as 'hello', which would make it almost impossible to correctly identify his soulmate, but come-the-fuck-on fate, his soulmark was a joke.
And the words that were on his skin since the day he was born, the phrase that everyone in his family feared, the tattoo that he hated with his entire heart was: "Any last words, princess?". His soulmate provided him with the simple fact: there will be at least one assassination attempt directed at him and, to make it even more exciting, no one knows if it will be successful or not."

It was easy to hide - wearing socks was enough to do that so the policy of hiding their soulmate marks on the Ark didn't really affect her that much.
