It was a group of mounted soldiers passing through, their armour and blades gleaming in the sunlight. Dressed in imperious yellows, horses panting beneath each of their considerable weight.
These soldiers were retainers to the lord over the region, the Palace Master, and though they were only minor cavalry in earnest, to Luo Binghe’s young and inexperienced mind, they were all that was magnificent.
Essentially, if PIDW was instead a BingJiu historical written whilst Airplane was reading Luo Guanzhong's ROTK.

Shen Qingqiu steals Yue Qi.
It is disgustingly easy for him to do. The Sect Leader has been made vulnerable, and there aren’t any guards in front of his room? No one looking over him, to make sure that no one takes advantage? Secrecy alone is not enough to keep him safe, especially if all of the Peak Lords are in the know. Shen Qingqiu would have a sharp word with Mu Qingfang for the lax security on his peak, but that would be a little like the thief telling the lord to look after his goods better. His martial brother is only lucky that Shen Qingqiu isn’t seeking to kill their Sect Leader.
He thinks.
He’s still making up his mind.

“I have no secrets to hide,” Liu Qingge says, and lifts his chin challengingly at Shen Qingqiu, who bristles in return. “Do you?”
“Ah, Liu-shidi, if you don’t have any secrets then you should get some real quick!” Shang Qinghua says with bright, manic cheer, his smile and his eyes a little too wide. “The consequences for not meeting the curse’s requirements would be very very bad!”
