Hot Rod never saw the Autobots after he destroyed Nyon, he got scooped up by Megatron at his worse and twisted in to the worst version of himself.
Now tasked with ensuring the Autobots lose their CMO, he decides the best way to go about this is to take out his conjunx, Drift.
This is in fact, the worst way to go about this.
(alternate summary: Drift sees a rabid mech then looks around and asks "is anyone gonna help him?" then doesn't wait for a response.)

Between fragments of familiar memories, D-16 and a rather eclectic crew of self-proclaimed Autobots vow to take on a war to return him back to who he was.
But the more the crew uncovers about his past... the less he wants to know.
