Summary
Or, ‘Why Is Jod Such A Miserable Sleemo?’
"Did you hear Kh'ymm ask Jod if we're his kids?" Fern asks between spoonfuls of nutrimeal. Either Jod is a bad cook or the stuff doesn't have any flavor to begin with, but she's hungry and it's edible.
Wim giggles.
"I guess I'm adopted," Neel adds. This sets the four of them laughing.
"Do you think he has kids?" KB asks when the fit subsides.
"Jedi aren't allowed to get married," Wim says.
"Even if he is a real Jedi, he doesn't have to be married to have kids," Fern counters.
"Huh?" Neel doesn't follow.
Fern doesn't elaborate, and no one else offers to clarify.
"It doesn't seem likely," KB begins, as if she's come to a data-driven conclusion.
"What're you lot scheming about?" Jod has just come around the corner from the bridge, his empty bowl in his hand.
Wim, Neel, and Fern let out a collective yelp.
"Jod, do you have any kids?" Neel blurts out.
"Neel!" Fern hisses, too late.
Jod almost seems as if he's not going to answer.
"No. Pirates don't have kids," he says flatly, and leaves as abruptly as he appeared.

Rina has been developing a crush on (very much alive) Syril Karn. On the night of a traditional Ghor festival, Syril informs Rina that he doesn’t share her feelings. She takes a bottle of Ghor liquor to Jod/Jack’s camp to vent about her romantic woes.
Some surprising truths come out.

Kind of a combo because Mairon in particular is very different with Melkor than with anyone else.

Summary
“I have an update. On the shipment."
“What is it?”
“There’s another pers - piece. Been here a year.”
“This piece… is it real? How much faith would you put in its value?”
“It’s a fake. I’m sure of it.”In the galaxy we know, Wilmon Paak arrives too late to warn the Ghormans of Syril Karn's clear ill intent towards them - they've already shunned him away, he likely never even met him. But in this universe, Wilmon arrives just a couple months earlier, sees the worst imperial spy to walk the galaxy, and Luthen and Kleya are quick to react.
Who is this Syril Karn? Why is he here? What is his obsession with Cassian Andor? What is his connection to Dedra Meero?
All questions Luthen Rael would very much like answers to, but doing so requires sending the very man Syril's been hunting across the years to meet with him, and the aftershock will turn Syril's life upside down, and his relationship with his dearest Dedra, forever.

Summary
This story bridges the emotional and narrative gap between 2x08 and 2x12, exploring what was left unsaid—especially from Dedra’s POV. It follows her grief and unraveling after Syril's death, revisiting key moments and imagining what happened in and after Ghorman. You'll get a memorial and we get to see Eedy again.
A quiet reckoning between duty, loss, and what’s left behind (with some flashbacks). Enjoy reading!
