Summary
All Din wanted to do was help Luke explore an abandoned jedi temple. Now they're 30 years in the past and Din accidentally convinced some jedi into thinking they've traveled forward in time rather than backwards. No-one asks Luke about this.
Basically Din ends up in the clone wars but through his lack of pre-empire knowledge and Anakin’s willingness to jump to conclusions, Din has accidentally convinced the old jedi order that he’s an ancient mandalorian and Luke is an ancient jedi. And no-one decides to explain this to Luke.

Summary
Desmond fulfilled his destiny, as was foretold. A new world to save and a fantastical evil he was in no way prepared for. An Assassin works in the shadows, but Desmond is raised up as the figurehead of a religion he doesn't believe in, to save a world not his own, and be the leader of an army. The question isn't can he do it, the question is how.
