Oh, she was a wreck, this wasn’t going to work out…

Summary
Gem looked around the roofs for the red cloak, when she spotted her. Besides the hooded cloak, she wore a mask covering her mouth, and had her two iconic scythes. Her long brown hair peeked out from behind the red fabric, slightly hiding her eyes. Even through the mask Gem could feel her smile. She could see it in her eyes.
“Red Scarlet, is it?” Gem looked at her. “Brave enough to be here by yourself?” She raised her sword, challenging her, which in hindsight, was a very stupid thing to do.
Scarlet just laughed. “I could say the same for you, Amethyst. Is your little friend being held up?” Her voice. It was the first time Gem’s heard her voice. There was a modulator changing it, but she could still hear it under the covers. That sinister sound.

Gem and Joel are the city's top heroes. They work together well in costume, and are great friends out of it. It's amazing that they can keep their secrets so well from their friends. Speaking of secrets, how did Scott meet Pearl again? And why does she look so familiar?

Summary
After getting fired from her job, Gem decides to move into her grandmother's old house. The area she moves to is called West Bell, which is a small town in Maine next to the vast Allagash wilderness. However, there is a big secret in West Bell that her grandmother never told her about-- a secret about Gem herself that has been hidden since she was born. Once she uncovers it, there's no turning back from what she has learned or the people she has met.
