Zoey leaned into the touch, drawing warmth from it.
"They're hiding something," she said, voice tiny and scared. "Rumi wants to tell us. Celine doesn't. Promise not to say or do anything until I like, explain everything I heard?"
Mira blinked, "That bad? Okay. I promise."
Or Zoey overhears an argument between Rumi and Celine and the girls concoct a plan to get Rumi to admit her secret.

Summary
‘Rumi knew she screwed up, she didn’t mean to let it get as far as it has… Her relationship with Zoey happened so slowly and naturally, she didn’t even realize what was happening until it started hurting when Zoey would leave for a few days for work.
Celine has gotten into a nearly daily habit of reminding her that she was going to hurt Zoey, and she was putting herself in danger. She knew she wasn’t enough for Zoey… Not the way things are now, that’s why it came as a painful relief when her girlfriend admitted her feelings for Mira- Someone who wouldn’t hurt her and give her what Rumi couldn’t.
She herself learned from her mistakes with Zoey, keeping Mira at arms length. Close enough to be comfortable friends, but nothing more, she did her best to keep it this way.’
