Summary
Ten years have passed since the "Year of Death" at Westerberg High. Veronica Sawyer is now a guidance counselor trying to navigate the changing high school culture of 1999. But she can't stop seeing her ex JD's eyes. Heather Duke left high school-- and her secret relationship to Heather Chandler-- behind and is now a successful publicist in LA having a series of one night stands with any model willing. Heather McNamara is moving back to Sherwood with a fiancee, house, and everything she wanted. But is it?
On the ten year anniversary, a troubled student comes to Veronica with knowledge she couldn't know, claiming she can see beyond this plane. And when the Heathers return to Sherwood all hell breaks loose. Literally.
Was everything that happened as it seemed 10 years ago? Or was the supernatural entity Azazel more responsible than any of them could have known? What was his grip on JD? On Veronica? And what will happen when they have to send Azazel back to hell before it takes all their souls?
Sort of AU: The events of the movie/musical happened but they were not as they appear. A supernatural force had some responsibility. There are ghosts, demons, and psychic powers in this world.

Summary
Summer has arrived! JD, Veronica, Heather M, and Martha are all paying their dues by putting time in at the Sherwood Day Camp full of drama, intrigue... and a bunch of kids.
It's not high school, that's for sure and Veronica is none to thrilled when she finds out her counselor buddy is Heather Duke. Veronica can't even fathom why Duke even needs the job when her family's house fits three of hers. Duke's got a secret though, and it's high time she and Veronica started relating person to person anyway.
Drama also unfolds as JD finds himself with a new shadow in the form of a nine year old boy that could use a friend of his own.
No, it isn't the "summer that will change their life" but it is a summer they'll never forget, that's for sure.

It's 1994 and Veronica Sawyer is 22 years old. She just graduated undergrad and is visiting friends and family in Ohio. JD just started his first "grown-up" job and can't tag along so she decides it's a last hurrah of singledom. Oh, did she mention she just got engaged? Well don't worry, everyone else keeps bringing it up. And up. And up again. They all seem to care more about that than the fact that she got accepted into a doctoral program to study clinical psychology and she's not sure why that really upsets her. She loves JD. She *wants* to marry him! She heads to the 7/11 to take a break from all her crazy thoughts and runs into the last person she would expect to talk her out of this funk. Maybe some people just need time to change.

She awakens at an eerie 7/11 and has a chat with her ex. After a lengthy back and forth Veronica awakes to find herself in her teenage body, with a chance to make right, what once went wrong and decides not to go to Heather's the morning after the party, but stay with JD. Because, "Veronica, you really did have a messed up life..." Are any of them really damaged beyond repair?

JD and Veronica are now living in New York City. He's working and getting his life together at the same time she is hard at work in her classes and job. Veronica realizes though, there's a good chance his mother's sister still lives in the area and prods him to see his Aunt Phyllis for the first time since his mother's funeral.
