Chimney stared out the door of the apparatus bay where Buck had just exited, and Hen had quickly followed him. What the fuck? Buck was in the Navy? Had been all this time? He was working on his Master's degree?

Fuck.
Granted, Chimney knew that Buck wasn’t stupid. The fire academy was called an academy for a reason, after all, and Buck always had a knack for thinking outside the box for strange and unusual rescues. That was all like street smarts though and intuition. Ideas that were so dumb they were smart. They weren’t high level mathematics and multiple degrees in higher education!

1.) The lawsuit was over and he could come back

“Just dropping some stuff off. Don't worry, I'll be out of your hair soon, and then you won't have to ever worry about me again if you don’t want to.”or
In the midst of the lawsuit Buck gets the notice that he is to report to Top Gun in 14 days. Now he has ten days to wrap up his whole life and say goodbye. If anyone even wants to hear it.
There weren't enough Top Gun x 911 crossovers, so I had to write my own. You do not have to have seen Top Gun Maverick to understand this fic.

“What the actual hell,” Buck says, staring at the man—tanned skin, brown eyes resembling chocolate, and wet, windswept brunet hair—who is gazing at him with open amusement. “Where did-? Where the hell did you come from?” Buck squeaks, wondering if this is a really elaborate dream or if he is genuinely losing his mind; he’s honestly betting on the former, because Buck likes his mind at least somewhat intact.
“The sea,” the man says matter-of-factly, pointing down at the sea below them, and Buck’s eyes follow the gesture. Thanks to the moonlight above him, he can make out what is below the surface… somewhat, because he’s pretty sure the tentacles wrapped around his waist are attached to the weird, hot sea guy.
Oh yeah, Buck is totally losing his mind.
