Grandpa was dead.
It happened a week after the vampires had been killed. Max had been stopped. Star and Laddie were long gone, off on their next big adventure together. Grandpa had gotten the house fixed, thanks to some very talented neighbors that owed him favors. Sam and the Frogs felt vindicated about erasing the vampire threat, and were attached at the hip when possible. Lucy didn’t mention said vampire threat. Michael had gotten a job at the clothing store on the Boardwalk. Everything was great. Normal, even.
Until grandpa died.
And now their lives were back in boxes. Packed away and ready for the move back to Phoenix, Arizona. Back to what started this whole mess in the first place.

The Forest was not welcoming to outsiders, which is why when Razz was walking down the path and stumbled into a quiet pocket, she got chills.

And this is where our story begins, many years later, where our assassin is fitted into modern society.
