Summary

Summary
Continuation of my Cruel Intentions series; follows Lacrimosa and is the first book. What lengths would you go for a friend? Manny and Diego find out the measures devotion costs as outside forces conspire to tear the herd and their friendship apart.
T for violence & thematic elements, lots of whump, hurt/comfort, and angst. Emphasis on Mango bromance/friendship and Diego & Peaches uncle/niece relationship are the focus as Roshan's return causes havoc for the herd and the Bredelands. Canon-divergent AU as of the latter Ice Age sequels of IA4/5, i.e. throwing back to IA1's tone/themes/atmosphere as much as possible, in this series; technically begins post-IA3.
Additional tagline for this book: Hiding the truth often comes at a great cost. Is it one the herd - and Manny & Diego in particular - are willing to pay?

Summary
An Ice Age meta post type of story. Potentially controversial. This ficlet sets out to explain what went on during the missing years between the Meltdown and DoTD, and also Manny's views on Diego's hunting, not to mention what led to the temporary "breakup" (I've read reviews calling it that!) of their friendship at the beginning of DoTD.
