Jazz wanted to know what had happened, but, like, I don’t remember anything. She kept asking these really weird questions like “who were you fighting” and “where is the thermos?” The fuck does a thermos have to do with anything? Why would I be fighting someone? And why at NIGHT? Her questions got really strange after that, like, she started asking about my…powers? And something about a ghost form.
Reallllly glad she waited to ask these things in my room instead in front of Mom and Dad. Questions like that could have sent them over the deep end.
Jazz got really upset. I mean, she was already upset, but she was getting REALLY upset by my confusion.
She finally asked, “What is the last thing you remember?”And I said, “Going into Mom and Dad’s broken ghost portal.”

It's the home stretch: all Danny has to do is get through one more year at Casper High before he's home free. Ghost attacks have petered off, the GIW were defunded, and Danny's grades have improved. Really, there's nothing that should make this year too hard. There shouldn't be, at least. The weird hunger that he's been feeling since his third deathday doesn't count; it's probably just ghost puberty. He's been through it once—he can do it again, no sweat. Right?

“Morning,” Phantom mumbled. “How was your sleep?”
A loud crack of thunder resounded throughout the room followed by the sound of pouring rain. The window became foggy as a fresh wave assaulted its surface. Danny slowly turned his head to peek at Phantom, black hair covering half-mast eyes. “Peachy.”
Phantom squeezed his ribs tighter. “We can try something else tonight.”

All of them, except for his own, which is pretty garbage when your job is to solve people’s mysterious back pain by solving what’s wrong with their wings and fixing them up. What use are “magic hands” if he couldn’t even touch his own? Is there anyone else out there like him? In his 20-odd years of life, he’s yet to find anyone. Until today.

Danny splits himself to practice kissing, and while it is as awkward as you would expect kissing yourself to be, circumstances keep arising that are easier to deal with apart than as one.
