As much as Charon would like to stay in for the evening with Hermes, Nyx is expecting them at a charity dinner and he'd rather they not be on her shit list for missing it. Hermes, at the end of his rope after two weeks of them being too busy to do anything more than kiss and fall asleep in the same bed, concocts a plan to convince Charon to leave early and spend the rest of the night alone with him.
Or, at the very least, fuck him in the car. Whichever comes first.

What Hermes hadn’t known at the time was that when Charon eats suckers, he doesn’t just keep it in his mouth, maybe occasionally switching from side to side, cheek to cheek. Like a normal person. No - he goes all in. He sucks at it until his cheeks are hollowed, extracting all flavor possible and tinting his entire mouth purple. His tongue curls enticingly around the circumference of the candy, sliding around and around, no spot left untouched. And by the end, his lips are always coated with a thin sheen of sugar, swollen from his licking and suckling and prodding.

Unwilling to give away his position just yet, Charon pulls his hat over his glowing eye, thoroughly enjoying his uninterrupted view of Hermes as he struggles against the ropes. And what a captivating view it is. His beloved wiggles and squirms against his restraints in such an enticing way, tempting Charon until the smoke wisping from his lips turns viscous, purple pooling in his mouth and dripping slowly to the ground from between his teeth.

He looks up at Charon with sharp eyes filled with impish delight. “Though, the thing is, my real name is far too complex for a human to comprehend. Something about it drives people to insanity or something like that. Still not sure why. But I don’t really want that to happen to you, so you can just call me ‘Hermes.’”
Too complex for a human to comprehend. Human. A direct confirmation that whoever - whatever - is standing in front of Charon is not human. Not that it was ever in doubt, but the affirmation strikes at a fear somewhere deep inside him. His next question comes from gritted teeth.
“What are you?”
The grin that splits Hermes’ face is feral. “That’s a tough one to answer, Father. I’ve been called a lot of things in my time.”
