Summary
Before she knew it, Kara was drifting off to sleep, one fist under her head and the other clenching a stale french fry. Her mother’s words drifted off into near nothingness as her brain started to go blank.
Suddenly, she wasn't at McDonald's anymore.
She woke up in a big bed, covered in a white, soft comforter. There was a mass next to her, snuggled into her side. Rays of sunlight were streaming into the room from a large window on the wall by the bed, bathing the room in a golden glow.
The dark hair peeking out of the top of the covers began to stir. A bright green eye poked itself out of the covers and peeked at Kara.
"Morning, darling" the mass said softly, snuggling further into Kara's chest.
Kara didn't answer. She was too busy being distracted by those eyes.

“You okay?” Alex nudged her gently.
“Was that...real?” She heard herself asking, still in shock. “Does that mean...does she really like me like that?” Alex snorted, unable to hold it back.
“Lena, she just told you that she loves you.” The redhead stated the obvious bluntly.
“Friends say that to each other all the time,” Lena sniffed, sounding utterly pathetic but feeling too overwhelmed to care. “And it technically cut off so-”
“I swear to God Luthor if you let the fact that the recording cut off “you” at the end as an excuse to continue to ignore what you two have I really will lose my shit.” Alex threatened warningly. “And sure, friends say “I love you” to each other all the time, but do you and Kara?”
That point stopped the words forming on Lena’s tongue. No, they didn’t, Lena realized. But they didn’t have to.
