Summary
Maybe if they were both half a decade younger, Kai would've made fun of Cole's serious face and given him a playful shove, told him to snap out of it. But they weren't half a decade younger, and Kai wasn't in the mood for jokes. Cole didn't look like he was either.
Something really was bothering Cole, and Kai wanted to know what that something was so he could try to help, but almost three minutes of shared silence proved that Cole, in fact, wasn't going to open up without a bit of prying.
“There's something on your mind.”
Or; On their way to the site of the screaming earth, as the trio takes a break from driving, Kai sees Cole acting off and so the two have a much-needed talk/moment of catching up.

Basically: What happens after Charlie's newest trust exercise, age-regression, has finally ended?

“Alastor! Pleasure to be meeting you, quite a pleasure!” The red guy- Alastor apparently said quickly, shaking Lucifer’s cane with a grin that seemed a bit tight.
“It’s nice to finally put a face, or mask, to the name! You are much shorter in real life!” Lucifer was not going to like this guy, was he?

Lucifer was heavily scarred during his fall from heaven. And not just mentally. So he hides his face at every moment possible. No one in hell has seen the entirety of his scars.
This annoying red guy seems to be trying to change that last statement, however.

He’s handling it in a totally normal way - no avoidance tactics or trauma here! Nope - not at all! He’s perfectly fine thank-you-very-much.

"You guys— Maybe we should get Wu for this—" Jay muttered awkwardly as he watched as Kai and Lloyd began assembling the materials they needed for the ritual, briefly shooting a wary glance over at Cole who seemed just as skeptical as he was. Although it seemed like his warning fell on deaf ears considering neither Lloyd nor Kai faltered in their movements, even Zane who was usually the voice of reason remained silent as he finished drawing the red circle in the center of the room.
"Wu hasn't even left his room, let alone the monastery in months" Cole sighed dejectedly as Kai and Lloyd finally stepped away from the freshly drawn circle, both of their features taught with determination and seriousness, albeit with a slight trance of anxiousness making its way into Lloyd's aura. "Remember this is for Nya" Zane interjected flatly, his emotions having long since drained out of his body the moment he'd switched them off. His face not even resembling anything remotely emotional as he held up the scroll and began reciting from the old and worn out pages.

During Cole’s yearly visits to the Temple of Airjitzu to see Master Yang, he was not expecting to discover a humanized and unconscious Morro. Unsure of what to do, Cole brings Morro back to his dad’s place. Especially as the other ninja wouldn’t be very eager to forgive the former ghost.
