Summary
Upon her death, Vaggie left a pretty grizzly past behind in El Salvador: sex work, an abusive ex, an estranged relationship with all of her family members, a very bloody end… She likes to think she’s made her peace with it, and in being welcomed into Hell, she’s welcomed a second chance at happiness into her life. Only problems should be the hotel’s power outages and dealing with the rest of its inhabitants.
Enter one (admittedly reckless) teenager armed with a singular passage from a semi-accurate book, and she’s summoned back to the Living Realm.
Lots of things wrong with that—for one thing, this is definitely breaking some sort of universal law that you end up where you end up, and you can’t just force your way into whatever realm you want. Also, her girlfriend is definitely trying to figure out what the fuck just happened. And this teenager can’t send her back—not with her past that is just aching to yank her back and never let go, and not with a rescue… probably (?) on the way.
Getting back to Hell isn’t going to happen for a bit—and in the meantime, there’s… a lot she has to deal with.
And a lot she can’t hide from Charlie.

Summary
After everything is out in the open and their relationship comes out stronger than ever, Vaggie decides she wants to ask Charlie to marry her. But before that she wants to makes sure Charlie's father (aka The King of Hell) is at least somewhat okay with it.
She'll fight him if she has to, but she'd rather not; it would make Charlie upset.

But there’s a lot more to it than what she likes to tell.

The working title for this was “I wanted to end pride month with a bang” and I chose to share that with y’all, ‘cause it was, frankly, brilliant.I had this in my drafts, workshopping it, adding on new details, and now it’s gone—but, y’know, one of the hardest pieces of writing advice I’ve ever taken to heart is that when a scene, or the words, or the moment isn’t working, the best thing you can do is delete every fucking word you’re struggling with and start from scratch.
…I’m making a career outta this.
