Venom, for their part, had been too engrossed in studying the lines on Eddie's sole to notice that their host had briefly floated up to consciousness. By the time they were aware, he was already gone again, with no obvious signs that he had noticed anything. They relaxed again after that. It was ok, their secret was safe. He was none the wiser. They would just have to be more careful in the future.

Dan’s finally looked up now, too. He’s just staring, mouth hanging ever so slightly open. Clearly trying to figure out if they’re actually seeing what it looks like they’re seeing.
Venom catches their gaze and flashes something like a smirk before bringing the little ball of goop in their arms to His face, cooing to it like a rumbling engine. Eddie leans his cheek on His and joins in.
She starts to get up, but immediately finds herself on shaking legs for a whole new reason, and sits right back down. Her hand finding Dan’s shoulder, anchoring her to reality.
The pair’s right in front of them now, slumping into the (only slightly busted) armchair across from them. The… the little thing in their arms falls into their lap. It’s - it’s got a face. Blinking at them, bright red eyes flitting between her and Dan. Little mouth - mouths - smiling. It’s making that gurgling laughter she’d heard before.

Like most people, Eddie never seriously expected to find his Match, but there was always that quiet hope. He’d been dragged to touch parties while in college and there was always the immediate thrill-disappointment that followed shaking a person's hand, but after New York and meeting Anne he’d accepted that it (probably) wouldn’t happen.
It is exceedingly rare for a Klyntar symbiote to find their Match, their Other. The universe is a wide place, and unforgiving. Most only know rumors of what fate lies for them once they find their Other, and like most things the worst rumors spread furthest.

Venom moved to rest on Eddie’s shoulder, nuzzling against his face out of concern, worry drawn tight on his face and Eddie felt a panging, a longing in his chest.
And then he was coughing.
“Eddie?” Venom asked as Eddie had coughs wracking through his chest and in a panicked frenzy, he realised why Venom couldn’t fix it. As he stumbled to the bathroom, choking, gagging and coughing, he realised that there quite literally cannot be a single human alive more fucked up than him.
Because how fucked up is it to fall for a symbiote who shares your body?

Eddie gets hanahaki disease and refuses to do anything about it. Venom is worried and mad that everyone keeps speaking in code and seems to know who Eddie is in love with but refuses to tell him who so he can go and rip their head off.
They figure their shit out though.
