The first time they're separated it's by Dan, and it's relatively easy. Oh, it hurts. No doubt about that. But they'd only just bonded and that just barely on the surface level. Even with a perfect match it takes time and effort to make something that lasts, and while Venom had touched every cell in Eddie's body by that point it hadn't yet settled into his bones, let alone had Eddie reach back.
Getting half your brain, body, and soul torn out sucks, and it gets worse the longer Eddie and V are together.

For the first time since becoming Venom, Eddie Brock’s life was normal again. Or rather, as normal as you could get with a parasite living rent free in your body and mind. Though credit where credit was due, Eddie was going to try his best to keep on living the way he always had - give or take a couple bad-guy shaped snack breaks. How hard could it be to teach the Symbiote all the important parts of being human?

Eddie volunteered to be the record keeper on a standard ship for a few months. Regular contract work. He did not, in fact, volunteer to be nearly killed by Carlton Drake in a deliberate crash landing onto an alien planet in hopes to coax out the lone creature that lurks there.
He never volunteered to fall in love, either. It seems like some things are the same no matter where you are.

Eddie found he couldn’t reach Dan past his forearm, so he tangled his hands in strands of Venom instead, clinging to it like rope. Venom reached the end of its tongue towards his chest and traced patterns into his skin, dancing towards and then away from each nipple at random intervals. Meanwhile Dan had set a measured pace while he experimented with minute angle adjustments and the difference in momentum the symbiote-swing gave them. He got this cute little furrow in his brow that showed how much effort he was putting into thinking while he was balls deep inside of Eddie.
