    Tony is checking on Peter while May is out of town, but Peter in uncharacteristically difficult on the phone when he calls. He finds out that Peter is sick, but out patrolling as Spider-man anyway. Tony decides he can't be trusted to take care of himself, so he goes over to stay with him. It's a good thing, because apparently Peter is prone to hallucinations when his fever gets too high.

    This is from two prompts from @irondadmadlads - #20 and #74, and from the @Comfortember 2022 prompt "Pass Out."

    Part of the post-Homecoming series "Strands in the Rope," which attempts to show how Tony and Peter's relationship might have developed between Homecoming and Infinity War, but can stand alone, also.

    Peter Parker sat outside the principal’s office holding an ice pack to his face. Flash Thompson sat a few chairs down from him looking nervous and annoyed, with an ice pack to the back of his head, and next to him sat another boy, half a head taller than either of them, and built like a rugby player, who was holding an ice pack to his wrist.

     

    Peter tried, again, to figure out how he’d gotten himself into this situation.

    Without lights they could see the crazy lightning off in the distance, and see the lights of the city reflecting up through the increasingly heavy rain. It was an awesome sight, but still unsettling.
    “Boss, Spider-man is requesting access to the building.”
    “What? FRI, what’s he doing out in this storm? Where is he?”
    “I’m sure I have no idea why, but he’s on the roof.”

    NYC loses power due to a man-made weather event Tony and Pepper still have power at the Tower, thanks to the ARC reactor, but they're surprised by an unexpected visit of the arachnid variety. What made the kid come all the way to Manhattan in this storm?
