Tommy smiled to himself as he elbowed the boy beside. From the very second that it was announced, only one name sprang to his mind. He looked over at the shorter brunette beside him, a wide grin on his face.
“Tubbo! My friend!” He exclaimed as he grinned widely at his best friend. The latter smiled back.
“Tommy! Big man.” The two boys extended their hands and shook, sealing their fate. Number 023 and 409, partners.

What the fuck? This wasn’t normal. Where was he? Why does everything look so.. weird?
“Newspapers!” Tubbo heard a boy yell from across the street. He quickly crossed by and made his way towards the boy.
“Hey can you give me one of those?” The teen asked.
“Ten cents please.” The boy extended his hand and Tubbo dug through his pocket for a dime. He pulled out a quarter, Eh good enough, and handed it to the boy. He got a shocked look from the newsboy but ignored it as he snatched the paper.
He skimmed through the pages until he found what he was looking for. The date: September 19th, 1968.

Summary
The rules of the Hunger Games are simple. In punishment for the uprising, each of the twelve districts must provide two people, called tributes, to participate. The twenty-four tributes will be imprisoned in a vast outdoor arena that could hold anything from a burning desert to a frozen wasteland. Over a period of several weeks, the competitors must fight to the death. The last tribute standing wins.
