“Lucy, I know things are bad between you two right now, but Tim just left the station and something is wrong." Angela’s voice cracks as the last words come out fragile. “I’m worried that he might try something.”
Lucy’s heart rate skyrockets, her body instantly flooding with adrenaline. She jumps up from the bed, pulling the phone from her ear.
Before she can even form a question, a text notification banner appears at the top of her screen.
10:43 pm: From: Tim
I’m so sorry. For everything.-
Set at the end of 6x07, Tim leaves his emergency therapy session in a bad place. Luckily, his best friend can see right through him.
When a panicked phone call from Angela puts Lucy on high alert, a devastating five-word text message sends her racing to Tim's house late at night. She's still angry, she's still hurt. But tonight, none of it matters.

Lucy’s breath catches as Dr. London’s words register, and the combination of Tim’s tears and her words paint a picture in her brain that makes everything make sudden, terrifying sense.
She’s suddenly very glad she decided to come to the station instead of going to Walmart for granny panties.
“Tim,” she whispers, and before he answers Dr. London’s question, his eyes snap up to meet hers.
Her heart cracks further when she sees that he’s crying again, tears trailing slowly down his cheeks, his blue eyes vibrant as he catches her gaze.
“I…” he whispers, but Lucy isn’t sure if he’s talking to her or Dr. London. “I don’t know.”
OR
Post 6x07. Lucy leaves something at the station and catches Tim leaving Dr. London's office.

Tim grimaces at her words bracing himself for what’s to come, “Actually…Ashley and I broke up.”
Genny freezes, she glances at Lucy then looks at him with wide eyes of delight and Tim shakes his head in the negative, cutting off her line of thinking. She then narrows her eyes and looks at him suspiciously, “you said you asked her to call me. Which means she was here…today. Did she break up with you today? While you were set to have surgery? Is she serious?”
“Genny, don’t start.” Tim warns as he glances briefly at a sleeping Lucy but when he looks back at his sister she’s only smirking at him. “Don’t.”
“Pick one!” Genny hisses, “either we talking about the sleeping woman at your bedside or the heartless bi—”
“Genny.”
“She broke up with you while you were in the hospital! On death’s door…”
“Hang on! I’m hardly dying,” Tim grunts in protest, he tries to move but she slaps him lightly on the arm.
“My point is who does that?” Genny continues her voice rising, “it’s heartless and cruel and…”
