Summary
As a child, Hannibal has problems making friends. A therapist gives him a doll to practice social skills on. Hannibal calls him Will, and quickly becomes obsessed with his new best friend. He never leaves it, even when he begins to hear Will's voice in his head, promising that he will never leave Hannibal, as long as Hannibal is willing to give him 'life to live'. Great love, after all, requires great sacrifice.

“Gio, please,” Dio sighs exasperatedly when Giorno, sitting in the baby seat, tries to put yet another random item into the shopping trolley.
“No!” Giorno tells him happily, and laughs like he thinks it’s the funniest thing ever, kicking his legs.
Dio sighs again, and calmly reshelves the can of baked beans Giorno had decided they needed. All he wants to do is get through his shopping list and get home with his son still in one piece. At least Giorno isn’t crying in the middle of the supermarket like an appalling number of children do.
…He probably shouldn’t jinx it.

Summary
The roses drew Hannibal to the castle.
The soft light of the full moon fell on the tangles of white roses in such a way that they seemed nearly to glow, and Hannibal was so taken in by their beauty that he wandered far into the castle grounds, cutting the largest and brightest blooms from the bushes as he went, heedless of the thorns.
He found himself drawn even more powerfully to the Beast, and though Will tried at first to drive him away, Hannibal was sure that they had much in common.

Will proposed to Molly two weeks after she introduced him to her father, the wealthy psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter who'd been left to raise Molly on his own. She'd warned him that her father would try to intimidate him away, but Dr. Lecter had done nothing of the sort, leering at Will over the edge of his wine glass and asking him about his work for the FBI. In fact, Dr. Lecter had invited Will back for a private dinner "to get to know one another."
