Summary
It's not the first time they find themselves like this: Catra on the ground, Adora standing above her, the tip of her sword dangerously close to Catra’s throat. Catra thinks she prefers it when Adora kills her without hesitation. But lately, Adora’s been slower to strike her. Catra can't figure out why.
"Why hesitate?" Catra asks. "I mean, you can't kill me. Not for good. What's stopping you, Adora?"
Adora doesn't answer her, just stares at Catra with those piercingly beautiful eyes of hers, as if she looks hard enough, Catra will surrender.
But Catra won't. She lost count of how many times they've killed each other a long time ago, and she's not going to go soft now, not after Dryl has held their ground against Eternia, not when they're this close to finally defeating the Eternians for good.

Summary
Adora is an Astrophysics PhD student who just can’t seem to write her dissertation. When the opportunity arises to work at the IceCube Neutrino Detector at the South Pole, she jumps at the chance, even though she’ll be stuck there for six months during the Antarctic Winter. When she arrives, she discovers that her research partner is her former roommate, former teammate, former best friend, former, well, everything, who she hasn’t seen since they graduated from college five years ago.

Adora glances at the clock on the left side of her computer screen. It’s 3:05 in the morning here, which means 9 AM on her end. She can’t pinpoint exactly when this habit started, but the time conversion happens spontaneously in her brain now, without her even noticing that she’s doing it anymore.
Hands on the keyboard, she licks her lips like she's just been caught.

Summary
What a funny thing love is. On one hand, it could be the best thing in the whole wide world. On the other, it could be the very thing that crushes your world. Now, put yourself in Catra's shoes. Growing up, she's been showered by toxic love by her foster parent- allowing her to shut herself out from it. Now, she's in a 6 year long relationship with her wonderful girlfriend, Adora, who loves her very much- she proves that by doing the little things: folding the laundry, making Catra's favorite pancake, giving her massages- oh and by telling that she loves her everyday! But the thing is, not once did Catra say the "L" word back, she just can't bring herself to say it! It's like a forbidden word for her. But of course Catra loves Adora back, they've been in a relationship for 6 years! But Adora doesn't know that- or does she? Anyway, Catra has one mission: face her emotional fears and baggage and tell the love of her life that she does in fact love her.
