Summary
Daniel makes his first attempt at faking his own death in the mosh pit at Lestat’s sold-out New York show.
He’s picked this location with a journalist’s eye for a story. It’s a fitting final act in the weird, vampire-themed end of life crisis that he’s been staging across multiple media outlets. Sure, the posthumous commentary won’t be flattering, but if he’d wanted glowing obituaries then he shouldn’t have spent the last seventy years being a complete asshole.
Speaking of which, the real reason he’s picked this particular place to die is that Lestat is going to be monumentally pissed when Daniel steals the spotlight from him.

Summary
In a different trouser leg of time, Maladict joins the Borogravian Military via more traditional means, i.e. by exploiting her contacts to get a position in the Borogravian High Command. There she finds herself in charge of managing the supplies for the entire Borogravian Army, a job she takes to like a bat to a spacious, well-appointed cave. The sole fly in her ointment is dealing with the logistical chaos caused by the escapades of the famous Polly Perks and her regiment. But the war is coming to a close and Mal might finally get the opportunity to give the irresponsible Lieutenant a piece of her mind.
