So square dancing typically doesn't come to your mind at the word.
Yet Lavinia persists.
Its early, and Will would rather do anything that dosido at Camp Jupiter with a random bubble-gum-addict at his feet.
But then there's Nico -- breathtaking, engaging, graceful.
They laugh their way through rounds of clumsy steps and Lavinia's yelling, before eventually, the tension builds. And it buzzes every inch of space between them. Will never would've expected his dreaded roots to spark this moment between him and his boyfriend, but now he couldn't be happier watching Nico spin in his grasp.
Or, Uncle Rick wrote a brief scene in The Court of the Dead about Lavinia teaching these two idiots to dance as a form of punishment. And I took it a step too far.

Naomi had just got the first payout of her newest summer single that week, and she’d promised him anything he wanted at the market – which, really, didn’t help his indecision. He’d picked out – a few apples, the really shiny ones, and some bread for his Nana, and even a whole basket of vegetables, because those were good, and – and something else, he’s sure. There’d been a whole stall dedicated to just this thing, and Will had never even considered that there could be multiple types of it, and – sticky, sweet, slow-moving.
