Summary
Elizabeth Colvin, a cunning yet occasionally naive New York City reporter, has made enemies after her exposé on the Metropolitan Hospital's leaves a stain on "friend of the family" Councilman Harriss' career. Suddenly, she finds herself kidnapped and forced to work as a dancer in The Sparrow Room for notorious mafioso, Francesco Juliano. What she doesn't realize is that she's gotten herself in the middle of a decades-long feud between Juliano and the mysterious Vittorio Puzo. He's saved her once before, but will he be of help to her now? Elizabeth struggles to find a way out of the trap she's fallen into.
Vittorio Puzo, a mafioso with a strict moral code and tortured past, has made enemies too. But that was his plan. What he didn't plan on was a small, spunky reporter getting in his way and in his head. Vittorio grapples with taking care of his mentally ill sister while seeking justice for a crime committed against his family many years ago, all while trying to uphold the New York mafia to a set of standards that seem to be slipping away.
A reimagining of the original Liz/Puzo story. A bigger focus on Puzo's family. It's a slow burn as we're starting from the beginning, but stick with me!

Summary
